RedShip Alternatives: Which Option Fits Which Job
The main alternatives to RedShip are F5Bot for free keyword alerts, Syften for mentions across many communities beyond Reddit, Reddit Pro for free brand tracking, MediaFast for a daily posting plan with drafts, and an AI agent such as Agent Agency that drafts and posts on accounts you connect. RedShip finds and scores threads; its own FAQ says the writing and posting stay yours.
What does RedShip do?
RedShip says it finds the Reddit threads where people already ask for what you sell, so you can reply first. You add your website, it works out what you sell and turns that into keywords, and every morning it checks Reddit for new posts that match and puts the ones worth your time in an inbox. Each thread gets a relevance score from 0 to 100, so you read a handful instead of hundreds. You can watch all of Reddit or a set of subreddits you pick.
- Competitors. It tracks mentions of the tools your buyers already pay for and flags threads where someone wants to switch.
- Google. A weekly scan finds older Reddit threads already on page one for your keywords, with the search volume of each.
- AI answers. Every week it runs your buyer questions through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and shows your share of their answers against competitors and the threads they cite.
- Who writes and posts. Its FAQ says RedShip does not post or send DMs for you, and its MCP server cannot post or comment. Its pricing FAQ adds that every plan includes a Chrome extension for sending semi-automated DMs and replies from Reddit.
- Connections. The MCP server works with Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and other MCP clients and comes with every paid plan. A REST API lets you read and update the inbox from scripts or a CRM.
RedShip pricing on 30 October 2026
| Plan | Price | Products | Keywords | Competitors | Seats |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Founder | $29 a month | 1 | 10 | 3 | 1 |
| Company | $49 a month | 3 | 30 | 10 | 3 |
| 7-day pass | $12 once | As Founder | As Founder | As Founder | As Founder |
The pricing page shows savings of 20% for quarterly and 40% for yearly billing. Founder sends alerts by email and Slack, and Company adds webhooks. There is no free trial, and the pricing FAQ says you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period.
Why look for a RedShip alternative?
RedShip suits founders who know what to say and want fewer, better threads each morning. People look elsewhere when one of these is true, and each points to a different kind of tool.
- You want to start for free. RedShip's pricing lists no free plan, and its FAQ says there is no free trial; the cheapest way in is the $12 pass.
- Your buyers talk outside Reddit. RedShip's pages describe Reddit, while some listening tools also watch X, Hacker News, GitHub or podcasts.
- You want to plan your own posts. RedShip finds threads to answer and suggests replies; its pages do not describe planning posts for each subreddit.
- You do not have time to write the replies. RedShip leaves the writing and the posting to you.
What should you decide before you switch?
- Who writes and posts? Alert and monitoring tools leave the reply to you. An agent drafts and can post. Whatever the tool, the Reddit Rules ask you to take part authentically in communities where you have a personal interest (Rule 2) and not to intentionally mislead others or impersonate anyone in a deceptive way (Rule 5). Our disclosure templates show short lines that work inside a comment.
- New threads, old threads or both? RedShip's daily check covers new posts, and its weekly scan looks back at threads that rank on Google. F5Bot alerts on new posts and comments. Syften's plans include archive search, from 7 days on its Entry plan to the full available history on PRO.
- Where do your buyers ask? If they ask only on Reddit, a Reddit tool is enough. If they also ask on X, Hacker News or GitHub, look at a tool that covers those as well.
The alternatives, one by one
1. Free keyword alerts: F5Bot
F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you when they appear in a new post or comment. On 30 October 2026 its plans section listed a free plan with email alerts and basic filtering, Silver at $12.99 a month with 20 keywords for individuals and non-commercial use, and Gold at $49.99 a month with 200 keywords, AI filtering, Slack and Discord alerts, and RSS and JSON feeds.
- Good for: founders who want every mention of their brand or category, at no cost, and are happy to sort the matches themselves.
- Limits: its page describes alerts and filters, not scoring threads, scanning Google or tracking AI answers. Silver is marked for non-commercial use, so a business would look at Gold.
2. Mentions beyond Reddit: Syften
Syften monitors the public web and many communities for keywords. Its home page lists Reddit, Hacker News, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Indie Hackers, Slack communities, Stack Overflow, YouTube, GitHub, Dev.to, podcasts and blogs among them. Alerts arrive by email, Slack, RSS, API or webhook, and for Reddit it aims for a delay of at most one minute. It says it has operated since 2019.
On 30 October 2026 its pricing listed Entry at $29.95 a month, Standard at $49.95 a month with AI filtering and Slack, and Syften PRO at $119.95 a month with full archive history, webhooks and MCP. X and YouTube monitoring are paid add-ons on Standard ($40 and $20 a month), and a 14-day free trial of PRO needs no credit card.
- Good for: teams whose buyers ask in many places and who want one feed with filters they control.
- Limits: it is a listening tool. Its pages describe alerts, filters and archive search, not drafting or posting replies.
3. Free brand tracking from Reddit: Reddit Pro
Reddit Pro is Reddit's own free set of tools for businesses. Its page says you can track keywords such as your business, products and competitors, set up a business profile, take part in conversations and measure how your posts and comments perform. If you already use Reddit yourself, Reddit suggests a new username for the business.
- Good for: a free first look at where your brand, products and competitors come up, straight from Reddit.
- Limits: you still pick the threads, write the replies and post them yourself.
4. A daily posting plan with drafts: MediaFast
MediaFast describes itself as a Reddit marketing tool for founders, startups and SaaS teams. Its home page says it finds subreddits and checks their rules, watches Reddit for threads where people ask for a product like yours, writes posts for each subreddit and gives you a daily plan that it says takes about ten minutes. Its llms.txt file adds post scheduling on LinkedIn and Bluesky. On 30 October 2026 the pricing section of its home page listed MediaFast Lifetime at $129 as a one-time payment.
- Good for: founders who want to publish their own posts in subreddits, not only reply, and prefer one payment to a subscription.
- Limits: its FAQ says you write the comments and press publish yourself, and its llms.txt says the app has no permanent free plan.
5. An AI agent on accounts you connect: Agent Agency
Agent Agency reads up to five public pages from the link you give it and drafts a Product DNA, a summary of your product that you correct and approve. The Reddit agent then comments, posts and answers DMs in the subreddits your buyers read. Reddit and X are live. How it works has the full flow.
- Who posts: you connect your own accounts and keep the karma they earn. If a platform restricts an account, the agent stops working on it, and we do not swap in a new one.
- Control: in Approve mode every post, comment and DM waits for your OK. On Autopilot the agents act on their own inside the rules and limits you set. The daily report lists what they did and what they skipped, and why.
- Mentions: no bare links, no copy-paste replies, and product mentions only when they answer the question, under a daily cap. It keeps to daily limits and quiet hours.
- Disclosure: you decide how your accounts say who they work for, inside the platform's rules and the law.
- Limits: it covers Reddit and X only. Invites go out from the waitlist in small batches, and pricing is announced with the first invites.
6. No tool: find and answer threads yourself
You can do the finding by hand: read the subreddits where your buyers ask, search Reddit for your category and your competitors' names, and answer where you know the problem. Our guides cover finding the subreddits where buyers ask, answering tool recommendation threads and how Reddit threads end up in ChatGPT answers. It costs time instead of money.

Which option fits which job?
You want ranked threads and the old ones on Google
RedShip itself may still be the fit, above all if the weekly Google scan and the AI answer checks matter to you.
You want every mention, for free
F5Bot's free plan, with an hour a day to read and answer.
Your buyers ask on many sites
Syften, with X and YouTube as add-ons if you need them.
You want to post, not only reply
MediaFast for a daily plan and drafts, or Reddit Pro for a free business profile.
You do not have time to write the replies
An agent such as Agent Agency, with Approve mode while you learn how it writes. It is not the fit if you want to write every word yourself. The agency, agent or DIY comparison weighs the trade-offs.
If you are moving off RedShip
- Copy your setup
Write down your keywords, tracked competitors and subreddit settings. They are the starting list for any other tool. - Keep the threads that rank
Save the threads from the weekly Google scan that you have not answered yet, so the list does not leave with the subscription. - Disconnect your assistant
If you connected the MCP server or used the API, remove the connector and any API key you created. - Cancel
The pricing FAQ says you cancel with one click from the billing dashboard and keep access until the end of the current billing period.
