MediaFast Alternatives: Which Option Fits Which Job

The main alternatives to MediaFast are RedShip for scored thread alerts, F5Bot for free keyword alerts, Reddit Pro for free brand tracking from Reddit itself, and an AI agent such as Agent Agency that drafts and posts on accounts you connect. Choose by job: MediaFast plans and drafts your posts, but its own FAQ says you write the comments and publish yourself.

What does MediaFast do?

MediaFast describes itself as a Reddit marketing tool for founders, startups and SaaS teams. Its home page says it finds the subreddits your buyers use and checks their rules, watches Reddit around the clock for threads where people ask for a product like yours, writes posts for each subreddit, and tracks your karma and shadowbans. Each day you get a plan that it says takes about ten minutes.

  • Who writes and posts. Its FAQ says MediaFast drafts the posts, but you write the comments in your own words and press publish yourself, because in its words Reddit bans fully automated posting.
  • Where. Reddit comes first. Its llms.txt file says it also schedules posts on LinkedIn and Bluesky, and the home page lists Reddit ads run from inside MediaFast as coming soon.
  • AI assistants. A hosted MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor use its subreddit discovery, post and comment drafting and shadowban check from a chat.
  • AI answers. The home page shows a tracker for how often ChatGPT and Claude cite your product, with Perplexity marked as coming soon.

MediaFast pricing on 30 October 2026

The pricing section of the home page listed one package, MediaFast Lifetime, at $129 as a one-time payment with no subscription. It includes team seats and unlimited projects, and the page says you get a refund if MediaFast cannot help you market on Reddit. Its llms.txt file also mentions a five-day free trial without a card, a monthly plan and done-for-you ghostwriting services, so check the site for the terms that apply to you.

Why look for a MediaFast alternative?

MediaFast suits founders who want a plan and drafts and are glad to write every comment. People look elsewhere for a few reasons, and each one points to a different kind of tool.

  • You only need the threads. If you already know what to say, a tool that finds and sorts threads may be enough.
  • You want to spend nothing. Free keyword alerts and Reddit's own free tools cover part of the job.
  • You do not have ten minutes a day. Then someone, or something, has to write and post the replies, and that changes who speaks for your brand.

What should you decide before you switch?

  1. Who writes and posts? MediaFast, RedShip and F5Bot leave the comment and the posting to you. An agent drafts and can post. Whatever the tool, the Reddit Rules ask you to take part authentically in communities where you have a personal interest (Rule 2) and not to intentionally mislead others or impersonate anyone in a deceptive way (Rule 5).
  2. Which account speaks for you? A founder account, a team account or a brand account. Our guide to brand or founder accounts covers the trade-offs, and the disclosure templates show short lines that work inside a comment.
  3. What do you pay for? A one-time licence, a monthly subscription, a free plan with limits, or your own time. A removed post or a restricted account costs you whichever you choose.

The alternatives, one by one

1. Scored thread alerts: RedShip

RedShip reads your website, turns what you sell into keywords, checks Reddit every morning for new posts that match, and scores each thread from 0 to 100 for relevance, so you read a handful instead of hundreds. A weekly scan finds older threads that already rank on Google for your keywords, and a weekly check runs your buyer questions through ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini to see which threads they cite. You can watch all of Reddit or only the subreddits you pick.

Its FAQ says RedShip does not post or send DMs for you, and its MCP server cannot post or comment. Its pricing FAQ adds that every plan includes a Chrome extension for sending semi-automated DMs and replies from Reddit. On 30 October 2026 the pricing page listed Founder at $29 a month and Company at $49 a month, with lower prices for quarterly and yearly billing. There is no free trial; a 7-day pass costs $12 once.

  • Good for: founders who know what to say and want a short, ranked list of threads each morning, including old threads that still bring Google traffic.
  • Limits: its pages describe finding and scoring threads and suggesting replies, not planning or writing your own posts. It is a subscription, not a one-time payment.

2. Free keyword alerts: F5Bot

F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you when they appear in a new post or comment. On 30 October 2026 its plans section listed a free plan with email alerts and basic filtering, Silver at $12.99 a month with 20 keywords for individuals and non-commercial use, and Gold at $49.99 a month with 200 keywords, AI filtering, Slack and Discord alerts, and RSS and JSON feeds.

  • Good for: anyone who wants to see every mention and answer it in their own words, at no cost.
  • Limits: it is an alert tool. Its page describes finding mentions, not choosing subreddits, drafting or posting. Silver is marked for non-commercial use, so a business would look at Gold.

3. Free brand tracking from Reddit: Reddit Pro

Reddit Pro is Reddit's own free set of tools for businesses. Its page says you can track keywords such as your business, products and competitors, set up a business profile, take part in conversations, and measure how your posts and comments perform. Reddit suggests a new username for the business if you already use Reddit yourself.

  • Good for: seeing where your brand and category come up, straight from Reddit, without a third-party subscription.
  • Limits: it shows conversations and numbers. You still choose the subreddits, write the posts and reply yourself.

4. An AI agent on accounts you connect: Agent Agency

Agent Agency reads up to five public pages from the link you give it and drafts a Product DNA, a summary of your product that you correct and approve. The Reddit agent then comments, posts and answers DMs in the subreddits your buyers read. Reddit and X are live. How it works has the full flow.

  • Who posts: you connect your own accounts and keep the karma they earn. If a platform restricts an account, the agent stops working on it, and we do not swap in a new one.
  • Control: in Approve mode every post, comment and DM waits for your OK. On Autopilot the agents act on their own inside the rules and limits you set. The daily report lists what they did and what they skipped, and why.
  • Mentions: no bare links, no copy-paste replies, and product mentions only when they answer the question, under a daily cap.
  • Disclosure: you decide how your accounts say who they work for, inside the platform's rules and the law.
  • Limits: it covers Reddit and X today, so it does not replace MediaFast's LinkedIn and Bluesky scheduling. Invites go out from the waitlist in small batches, and pricing is announced with the first invites.

5. No tool: run the plan yourself

The daily plan rests on steps you can do by hand: pick a few subreddits, read their rules, answer questions where you know the problem, and post only in the formats each community allows. Our guides cover finding the subreddits where buyers ask, subreddits that allow self-promotion and checking for a shadowban. It costs time instead of money.

Which option fits which job?

  • You want a plan and drafts, and will write the comments

MediaFast itself may still be the fit. A one-time price suits founders who would rather not add another subscription.

  • You know what to say and need the threads

RedShip for a ranked list each morning, or F5Bot if you want every mention and the budget is zero.

  • You want to see where your brand comes up

Reddit Pro, free and run by Reddit.

  • You do not have time to write every reply

An agent such as Agent Agency, with Approve mode while you learn how it writes. It is not the fit if you want every word to be yours or need LinkedIn or Bluesky. The agency, agent or DIY comparison weighs the trade-offs.

If you are moving off MediaFast

  1. Keep your subreddit list
Copy the subreddits and keywords from your dashboard. They are the starting list for any alert tool or agent. Read each community's rules again before you post, since rules change.
  2. Note where you have posted
List the threads you commented in and the posts you made, so you know where your product is already mentioned.
  3. Decide who speaks for you
Pick the account that will post and write the one-line disclosure it will use.
  4. Ask about the refund
If MediaFast did not help, its home page says it refunds you. Ask before you pay for something else.

Questions

Does MediaFast post on Reddit for you?

Not in the app. Its FAQ says MediaFast finds subreddits, checks rules, writes posts and watches for threads, but you write the comments in your own words and press publish yourself. Its llms.txt separately lists done-for-you ghostwriting services in which its team posts and comments for you.

How much does MediaFast cost?

On 30 October 2026 the pricing section of its home page listed MediaFast Lifetime at $129 as a one-time payment. Its llms.txt also mentions a five-day free trial without a card and a monthly plan, and says prices may show in your local currency.

What is the difference between MediaFast and RedShip?

From their own pages: MediaFast picks subreddits, checks rules and drafts posts on a daily plan for a one-time $129. RedShip scores new Reddit threads each morning, scans older threads that rank on Google and tracks AI citations, from $29 a month. Both leave the comments and the posting to you.

Is there a free alternative to MediaFast?

For finding threads, F5Bot has a free plan with email alerts for Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters. For tracking your brand, Reddit Pro is free and run by Reddit. Neither plans or drafts your posts, so the writing stays with you.
