ReplyAgent Alternatives: Options by Job, and Who Posts Each Reply

The main alternatives to ReplyAgent differ in who writes and who posts: a free keyword alert such as F5Bot, where you answer yourself; a lead tool such as Subreddit Signals, which drafts replies you post from your own account; Reddit Pro and Reddit ads; or an AI agent such as Agent Agency. ReplyAgent's own posting service uses Reddit accounts that ReplyAgent runs.

What does ReplyAgent do?

ReplyAgent describes itself as an AI Reddit marketing tool for SaaS businesses. Its home page says its AI watches your target subreddits around the clock, looks for posts that rank on Google and draw traffic, scores how well each post matches your product, and sends daily email reports with the posts it recommends. It then drafts a comment, which you post yourself or have ReplyAgent post for you.

  • Two ways to use it. The pricing page describes a Manual Mode with no subscription, where you find posts and write the content yourself, and AI features for $79 a month: daily post discovery, AI-written comments and subreddit suggestions for new posts.
  • Who posts. You can post from your own Reddit account at no charge. The paid posting service posts from ReplyAgent's own accounts instead, which its terms describe as 3 months to 2 years old, with 100 to 10,000 or more karma.
  • Approval and limits. Its terms say you review and approve every AI-written comment before it goes out, unless you turn on auto-posting, and that each of its accounts posts at most 5 comments a day.
  • Other services. A Mentioned by LLM service writes Reddit content meant to reach Google's top 10 results, and its llms.txt, last updated in January 2025, says the product uses the official Reddit API.

One thing to check at checkout: the billing answer on the same pricing page lists $5 deducted when a comment is posted and $10 when a post is published, and a refund for content removed within 1 hour. Those figures do not match the $4 and $8 above. What ReplyAgent does well: it publishes a price for each posted comment and post, offers a Manual Mode without a subscription, and writes down its refund rule for removed content. Where it falls short for some teams: the posting service speaks from accounts that are not yours.

What should you decide before you switch?

  1. Which account speaks for you? ReplyAgent presents its own accounts as a way to keep your personal accounts out of it. The Reddit Rules ask people to take part authentically in communities where they have a personal interest (Rule 2) and not to intentionally mislead others or impersonate someone in a deceptive way (Rule 5). Decide which account recommends your product, and whether readers can tell it is connected to you, before you pick a tool.
  2. Does the reply say who it is for? In the US, the FTC's answers on the Endorsement Guides say a connection to the seller should be disclosed where readers will see it, and that a note on a profile page is not enough. None of the ReplyAgent pages we read mention disclosure. Our disclosure templates show short lines that work inside a comment.
  3. What happens when a reply is removed? ReplyAgent refunds 70% of the posting fee if moderators have removed a comment by its single check, and nothing for removals after that. Its terms also say posted content stays under ReplyAgent's control until you have paid in full.
  4. How does the tool get Reddit data? Reddit announced in September 2026 that its public API will shut down in March 2027, as TechCrunch reported. Ask any vendor what that changes for them. Our post on the Reddit public API shutdown follows the dates.

The alternatives, one by one

1. A free keyword alert, and you write the reply: F5Bot

F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you when they appear in a new post or comment. The free plan is for personal use and needs no credit card. On 30 October 2026 its pricing page listed Silver at $12.99 a month for personal, non-commercial use and Gold at $49.99 a month for professionals and small businesses, with 200 keywords, AI filtering, Slack and Discord delivery, and RSS and JSON feeds.

  • Good for: founders who want to see every relevant thread and answer in their own words from their own account.
  • Limits: it finds threads but does not write or post anything, and it covers three sites, not X.
  • Pair it with: how to find the subreddits where your buyers ask.

2. A lead tool that drafts, and you post: Subreddit Signals

Subreddit Signals watches the subreddits you pick for each product and ranks matching posts by product fit and buyer intent. When you want a draft, it writes one in your voice; you edit it and post it from your own Reddit account. Its home page says it does not post replies automatically. Starter costs $29 a month and Pro $59 a month, each after a 14-day trial that needs a card.

  • Good for: teams who want a ranked shortlist and their own account on every reply.
  • Limits: it covers the communities you choose, not all of Reddit, and every reply still takes your time.

3. Reddit's own route: Reddit Pro and Reddit ads

Reddit Pro is Reddit's free toolset for businesses. You set up a profile, track keywords such as your business, products and competitors, take part in conversations as the business, and see how your posts and comments perform. For reach you pay for, Reddit ads carry a Promoted label next to the advertiser's name, as TechCrunch reported when Reddit added its free-form ad format in March 2024.

  • Good for: answering openly as the brand, or reach on a fixed date such as a launch.
  • Limits: Reddit Pro shows you conversations but writes nothing, and ad reach ends when the budget does. Our page on alternatives to Reddit ads sets ads against the organic options.

4. An AI agent on your accounts or ours: Agent Agency

Agent Agency reads up to five public pages from the link you give it and drafts a Product DNA, a summary of your product that you correct and approve. The Reddit agent then comments, posts and answers DMs in the subreddits your buyers read. Reddit and X are live. How it works has the full flow.

  • Who posts: you can connect your own accounts and keep the karma they earn, or rent one of ours. If a platform restricts an account, the agent stops working on it, and we don’t hand you a new one to carry on.
  • Control: in Approve mode every post, comment and DM waits for your OK. On Autopilot the agents act on their own inside the rules and limits you set.
  • Mentions: no bare links, no copy-paste replies, and product mentions only when they answer the question, under a daily cap.
  • Disclosure: you decide how your accounts say who they work for, inside the platform's rules and the law on material connections.
  • Limits: invites go out from the waitlist in small batches, and pricing is announced with the first invites.

Which option suits you?

  • You want to write every word

A free alert such as F5Bot, plus time each day. Nobody knows the product better than you, and the replies carry your own experience.

  • You want a shortlist and a first draft

A lead tool such as Subreddit Signals. It ranks the threads and drafts on request, and you post from your own account.

  • You want to speak as the brand, or pay for reach

Reddit Pro for a free business profile and keyword tracking, and Reddit ads when you need reach on a date.

  • You want replies drafted and posted for you

ReplyAgent's posting service and an agent such as Agent Agency both do this job. Compare whose account posts, how each reply discloses, and what happens when one is removed. The agency, agent or DIY comparison covers the trade-offs.

Agent Agency is the wrong pick if you want to write every reply yourself, need to start this week, or work mainly outside Reddit and X: invites go out in small batches, and Reddit and X are the platforms that are live.

If you are moving off ReplyAgent

  1. Keep your lists
Copy your product descriptions, keywords and target subreddits from the dashboard. They are the starting list for any alert tool, lead tool or agent.
  2. Note what was posted for you
List the threads where comments went out from ReplyAgent's accounts. Its terms say content already posted stays on Reddit after you leave, and stays under ReplyAgent's control until you have paid in full.
  3. Decide which accounts speak for you
Pick the founder account, a team account or a brand account, and write the one-line disclosure it will use.
  4. Cancel
Its terms say you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period, with no refunds for partial months. Unused posting credits are reviewed separately.

Questions

Does ReplyAgent post from its own Reddit accounts?

Yes, if you use its posting service. Its terms say it posts from its own accounts, 3 months to 2 years old with 100 to 10,000 or more karma, and that each account posts at most 5 comments a day. In Manual Mode you post from your own account instead.

How much does ReplyAgent cost?

On 30 October 2026 its pricing page listed the AI features at $79 a month or $699 a year, after a 3-day free trial, plus $4 per comment and $8 per post if ReplyAgent posts for you. Manual Mode needs no subscription.

Is there a free ReplyAgent alternative?

F5Bot has a free plan for personal use that emails keyword alerts from Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters, and Reddit Pro is free for businesses. With either one, you write and post the reply yourself.

Do I have to disclose that a reply promotes my own product?

If you have a connection to the product that readers would not expect, US guidance from the FTC says to disclose it where readers will see it, not only on your profile. The operator of the account decides how, and the platform's rules and the law still apply whichever tool drafted the reply.
