# ReplyGuy Alternatives: What to Use Instead, and Who Each Suits

> The main alternatives to ReplyGuy are answering threads yourself with a free keyword alert such as F5Bot, a wider monitoring tool such as Syften, Reddit ads, or an AI agent such as Agent Agency that runs on accounts you connect. Decide first who posts the reply and under whose name: ReplyGuy's own FAQ says its Reddit replies go out from accounts it purchased.

Agent Agency makes one of the options on this page. Every fact about another product links to its source, with the date we checked it.

> **Note:** We make Agent Agency, one of the options on this page. Everything we say about ReplyGuy and the other tools comes from their own public pages, which we read on 22 October 2026 and list in the sources below. Prices and features change, so check each page before you buy.

## What ReplyGuy does, from its own pages

ReplyGuy describes itself as AI that finds conversations where your product could be mentioned and drafts replies for them. Its home page lists five steps: you choose keywords, it tracks mentions of them, its AI picks recent and relevant posts, it writes a reply meant to help the original poster and mention your product when relevant, and the reply is sent.

- **Platforms.** The FAQ names X and Reddit as supported, with LinkedIn, TikTok and Hacker News being added. Its free audit, which needs no account, searches Reddit, X, Hacker News, YouTube and more and shows the replies it would post.
- **Who sends the replies.** For Reddit, the FAQ says ReplyGuy uses purchased accounts that it emails to you within a few days of subscribing. For X, it finds the places to reply and suggests the text, and you edit and post it yourself.
- **Proof of posting.** Paid plans from Pro upwards list a screenshot of every reply, and the audit page says you pay only for replies that are live.
- **Terms.** Its terms say people under 18 may not use the site, refunds are possible within 7 days of purchase if you have not used the product, and New York law governs the agreement.

### ReplyGuy pricing on 22 October 2026

Every plan is a monthly budget of credits. A comment it finds for you costs 1 credit, a reply it posts costs 3, a reply sent as a DM when a comment cannot post costs 5, and a brand audit after your first free one costs 5. Yearly billing is also offered at a lower price per month.

**ReplyGuy monthly plans as listed on replyguy.com, 22 October 2026**

| Plan | Price per month | Keywords | Credits per month | Projects |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 5 | 6 | 1 |
| Small | $10 | 5 | 20 | 1 |
| Pro | $49 | 10 | 100 | 1 |
| Business | $99 | 25 | 300 | 5 |
| Enterprise | $199 | 100 | 1,000 | Unlimited |
| Agency | $499 | 1,000 | 5,000 | Unlimited |

To read those numbers as replies: if every credit went to posted replies, the Free plan covers 2 a month, Small covers 6 and Pro covers 33. Credits spent on found comments or DMs lower that count.

## Three questions to answer before you switch

1. **Who posts, and under whose name?** Some tools only alert you, so you post from your own account. Some draft and you post. Some post for you, from your account or from accounts the vendor supplies. The [Reddit Rules](https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules) ask people to take part authentically in communities where they have a personal interest (Rule 2) and not to intentionally mislead others or impersonate someone in a deceptive way (Rule 5). Choose the account that speaks for you on purpose, before you pick a tool.
2. **Does the reply say who it is for?** In the US, the FTC's [answers on the Endorsement Guides](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/ftcs-endorsement-guides-what-people-are-asking) say that a connection to the seller should be disclosed close to the recommendation itself, and that naming your employer on a profile page is not enough. Whatever tool you use, the operator decides how replies disclose, and the platform's rules and the law require disclosing a material connection. Our [disclosure templates](https://agentagency.si/guides/reddit-disclosure-templates) show short lines that work inside a comment.
3. **What do you pay for?** Credits per reply, a flat subscription, an ad budget or your own time. Price per reply is easy to compare; what a removed reply or a restricted account costs you is harder, and it falls on you either way.

## The alternatives, one by one

### 1. A free keyword alert, and you write the reply: F5Bot

F5Bot watches Reddit, Hacker News and Lobsters for your keywords and emails you when they appear in a new post or comment. Its free plan needs no credit card and sends email alerts with basic filtering. The home page lists paid plans too: Silver at $9.99 a month adds 20 keywords and advanced filters such as subreddit filters, and Gold at $49.99 a month adds AI filtering, Slack and Discord delivery, and RSS and JSON feeds.

- **Good for:** founders who want to see every relevant thread and answer in their own words from their own account.
- **Limits:** it finds threads but does not write or post anything, and it covers three sites, not X.
- **Pair it with:** [how to find the subreddits where your buyers ask](https://agentagency.si/guides/find-subreddits-where-buyers-ask).

### 2. A wider monitoring tool: Syften

Syften monitors many communities for keywords, and its home page lists Reddit, Hacker News, X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Indie Hackers, Stack Overflow, YouTube, GitHub, Dev.to, podcasts and blogs among them. Plans start at $29.95 a month, X and YouTube monitoring are paid add-ons ($40 and $20 a month) on its Standard and PRO plans, and it offers a 14-day free trial without a credit card. It says it has operated since 2019.

- **Good for:** teams whose buyers ask questions in many places beyond Reddit and X, who want one feed of mentions.
- **Limits:** like F5Bot it is a listening tool. Reading, writing and posting stay with you.

> **Note:** Coming from GummySearch too? Its site says it closed on 30 November 2025. Our [GummySearch alternatives](https://agentagency.si/alternatives/gummysearch) page covers research tools for Reddit.

### 3. Paid reach: Reddit ads

Reddit's help page on [spam](https://web.archive.org/web/20260830042641/https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043504051-Spam) suggests its self-serve advertising to people whose contributions are mostly links to a business they run. Reddit ads carry a Promoted label next to the advertiser's name, as [TechCrunch reported](https://techcrunch.com/2024/03/14/reddit-introduces-a-new-ad-format-that-looks-similar-to-posts-made-by-users/) when Reddit added its free-form ad format in March 2024. The reach lasts as long as the budget does. Our page on [alternatives to Reddit ads](https://agentagency.si/alternatives/reddit-ads) sets ads against the organic options.

### 4. An AI agent on accounts you connect: Agent Agency

Agent Agency reads up to five public pages from the link you give it and drafts a Product DNA, a summary of your product that you correct and approve. The Reddit agent then comments, posts and answers DMs in the subreddits your buyers read. Reddit and X are live. [How it works](https://agentagency.si/how-it-works) has the full flow.

- **Who posts:** you can connect your own accounts and keep the karma they earn. If a platform restricts an account, the agent stops working on it, and we do not swap in a new one.
- **Control:** in Approve mode every post, comment and DM waits for your OK. On Autopilot the agents act on their own inside the rules and limits you set.
- **Mentions:** no bare links, no copy-paste replies, and product mentions only when they answer the question, under a daily cap.
- **Disclosure:** your decision as the operator, inside the platform's rules and the law on material connections.
- **Limits:** invites go out from the waitlist in small batches, and pricing is announced with the first invites.

## Who each option suits

- **You want to write every word**: A free alert such as F5Bot, plus an hour a day. Nobody knows the product better than you, and the replies carry your own experience.
- **Your buyers are everywhere**: A monitoring tool such as Syften gives you one feed across many communities. You still need time to answer what it finds.
- **You need reach this week**: Reddit ads. Labelled as promoted, and the reach ends with the spend.
- **You want replies drafted on your own accounts**: An agent such as Agent Agency, with Approve mode while you learn how it writes. See the [agency, agent or DIY comparison](https://agentagency.si/compare/reddit-marketing-agency-vs-ai-agent-vs-diy) for the trade-offs.

## If you are moving off ReplyGuy

1. **Keep your keyword list** Copy the keywords and projects from your dashboard. They work as the starting list in any alert tool or agent.
2. **Review what was posted** Go through the replies posted for you (plans from Pro upwards list a screenshot of each) and note the communities, so you know where your product was already mentioned.
3. **Decide which accounts speak for you** Pick the founder account, a team account or a brand account, and write the one-line disclosure it will use.
4. **Cancel** ReplyGuy's FAQ says you can cancel or pause from the dashboard at any time. Its terms allow a refund within 7 days of purchase only if you have not used the product.

## Questions

### Is ReplyGuy free?

It has a free plan with 5 keywords, 6 credits a month and one project, according to its pricing on 22 October 2026. A posted reply costs 3 credits, so the free plan covers about two posted replies a month. Paid plans start at $10 a month.

### Are AI reply tools allowed on Reddit?

Reddit's spam help page lists tools such as bots or generative AI that may break Reddit or spread spam among its examples of spam, along with a bot that keeps promoting products across communities. The Reddit Rules ban spam and content manipulation, and each community's moderators decide what counts as spam there.

### Do I have to disclose that a reply promotes my own product?

If you have a connection to the product that readers would not expect, US guidance from the FTC says to disclose it close to the recommendation, not only on your profile. The operator of the account decides how, and the platform's rules and the law still apply whichever tool drafted the reply.

Reddit and X are live and the waitlist is open. Invites go out in small batches, and your invite comes when your batch opens. [Join the waitlist](https://agentagency.si/waitlist)
